Fellowship Application
Applicants must be ESA members. Application forms together with the required attachments must be postmarked no later than September 15th of the preceding year.
Applicants should be trainees or within the first 3 years after specialist certification.
Applicants will be advised of the outcome of their application no later than November 30th.
Selected applicants will be required to write an article for the ESA Newsletter describing their experience upon completion of the training period.
Host Centre Application
Identifying centres willing and capable to support this programme and to host one or more fellows for three months at a time is a critical component of this programme. The ESA is now actively recruiting centres that would be willing to accept trainees for three month periods. We expect that these will be well known, recognised centres with a large volume of clinical activity and excellent facilities for teaching. Applications should be made to the ESA Secretariat – Fellowship Task Force. The allocation will be carried out by the Task Force, and the Board will be closely monitoring the success of the scheme.
For this project to be successful it will be important to offer fellowships of a variety that will attract and educate the candidates. We expect that former fellows will be future leaders, who retain links with, and an affection for, their previous training centre!
Hospitals that wish to participate in this programme and become a Host Centre may submit an application to the ESA Secretariat.
