Autumn Meeting 2011

Dear friends of European Anaesthesiology,

It is with great pleasure that the ESA announces its second Autumn Meeting. It is an annual satellite to the summer Euroanaesthesia congress. The Society’s intention is to extend educational activities to European countries that for practical reasons cannot accommodate meetings of the size of Euroanaesthesia. Hopefully, it will also be more convenient for some members to attend such meetings in central and eastern European cities.

The ESA is aiming for an affordable CME meeting for a limited number of 450 participants. It will be a two-day programme with 18 presentations given by well-known international experts in the field. The main topics of this year's meeting cover respiration, the cardiovascular system, transfusion and haemostasis. There will also be a special hot topics session, and the new ESA guidelines on preoperaive evaluation will be presented in depth by members of the task force that produced them. In parallel, we will also offer hands-on workshops on airway management, as well as problem-based learning discussions.

We hope that this year's Autumn meeting will be as well received and successful as Euroanaesthesia, and that we can welcome both trainees and already established anaesthesiologists to this event in the captivating city of Krakow.

Best wishes
