National Society Membership

Categories of ESA Society membership 

1. National Society Membership
   Any European National Society of Anaesthesiology, recognised by the World Federation of Societies of Anaesthesiologists (WFSA) may apply for the National Society Membership. The application will be approved by the Board of Directors, upon recommendation of NASC (ESA National). Annual fees are payable on or before 1 January of each year. Membership benefits become effective as of the date of receipt of payment of the annual Membership fee for that year. National Society Membership is defined and governed by section 5 of the ESA By-Laws.
    
2. Associate Membership
   Associate Membership of NASC (ESA National) may be granted to societies that are unable, by virtue of government restrictions to comply with their obligation to pay the annual subscription to the ESA. National Societies who wish to be considered for Associate Membership status must present their case, in writing, to the NASC (ESA National) who will vote on the matter. Associate Membership may be granted to a National Society for a maximum of two consecutive years. Beyond the two-year period, approval of the ESA Board of Directors must be obtained by the NASC (ESA National).

Benefits of ESA National Society Membership

• ESA society members receive a free subscription and online access to the European Journal of Anaesthesiology (published monthly + supplements).
• Receive the ESA Newsletter four times a year.
• ESA society members also have full access to all features of the ESA internet site.
• Each Member Society shall be entitled to representation by duly nominated official delegates to the ESA National. Such official delegates shall attend the sessions of the ESA National General Assembly and each shall carry one vote.
• Member Societies in good standing shall be entitled to send delegates to the ESA National General Assembly.
• Each Member Society shall be entitled to representation by duly nominated official delegates at the ESA National General Assembly.
