ESA Policy Regarding Conflicts of Interest
Any person who chairs or speaks at a Euroanaesthesia meeting in sessions not supported by industry grants has declared, in advance of the publication of the final programme, the existence of any relationship or arrangement, direct or indirect, that could be reasonably considered to affect the content of the presentation. This includes, but is not limited to, factors such as financial relationships, advisory positions, receipt of payments, expenses, grants, or departmental support, and membership of other organisations.
Participants who have declared a ‘conflict of interest’ will be indicated in the final programme with an asterisk (*) next to their name. Individuals who have declared a ‘conflict of interest’ should disclose this to the audience at the beginning of their lecture or participation as Chairman of a scientific session. Should the individual with an asterisk (*) next to his/her name not declare this ‘conflict of interest’ at the beginning of the session, the audience has the right to request this of the concerned individual.
Chairmen and speakers at abstract presentation sessions are asked to make verbal statements. The audience, speakers, and chairmen are entitled to request such statements if they are not made.
